Mirjam Salminen

Martta Ritvanen who in the 1950s worked as Managing Director for Kalevala Jewelry resigned from the company in order to establish an own enterprise, Kaunis Koru. As the company’s designer she hired the talented designer of modern jewelry, Mirjam Salminen. Her form language was pure Scandinavian. In her jewelry she used a great amount of gemstones, especially the Finnish spectrolite, which she skillfully combined with silver and gold. Kaunis Koru was bought by Kalevala Jewelry in 1989.
