Kaisaleena Mäkelä

Jewelry designer and silversmith Kaisaleena Mäkelä (1963-2011) graduated as a silversmith from the Lahti Polytechnic Institute of Design. She continued her studies in Japan, also graduating from the Hiko Mizuno Jewelry College. She was a multitalented designer who delved into old mythology and symbolism while never forgetting the present day.

Kaisaleena Mäkelä was an unconditional and ethically strong artist. She said to search for freedom and thruth in her life, activities and work. She hoped to bring people joy and sense of belonging with her jewelry.
